How to use Screen Sharing inside HTML5 Virtual Classroom
Installing Screen Sharing Browser Plugin
Chrome browser
1) Click on the Screen Sharing icon
2) First time when you click on the screen sharing button you will be asked to install our special plugin in Chrome browser.
3) You may see an 'installation error' message as shown below. Click on "Chrome Store" link to install the plugin.
4) Click on "Add to Chrome" to install the Chrome browser plugin. Here is the direct link to the plugin.
Click "Add extension" finish the installation.
5) Go back to Virtual Classroom screen and click on Screen Sharing button again to share your screen. If you see the installation popup again, simply refresh the browser session. This is a one-time installation and you will not be prompted to install the plugin again.
After selecting "Share Screen" button, you can choose to share your "Entire screen" or an "individual application/window". Click "Share" button to start streaming your entire screen.
It is recommended to share a separate browser window or a different screen if you have dual monitors. Sharing virtual classroom inside the virtual classroom will create a loop.
Select "Application Window" to share a specific browser window or application such as PowerPoint or Word document. Click "Share" button to start streaming your application.
To stop sharing your screen, click on the screen sharing icon again.
Firefox browser
1) Click on the Screen Sharing icon
2) First time when you click on the screen sharing button you will see a window to share. Simply click on "Allow" button.
3) Now, you will be asked to install our special plugin in Firefox browser.
3) Click "Allow" for the firefox warning message.
Click "OK" to the following message. Our plugin is safe to install.
4) You may see an 'installation error' message as shown below. Click on "Firefox Addons" link to install the plugin.
5) Click on the green button "Add to Firefox" to install the browser plugin. Here is the direct link to the plugin.
6) Click on the "Install" button.
You will see a successful message as shown below. Click OK to continue.
7) Go back to Virtual Classroom screen and click on Screen Sharing button again to share your screen. If you see the installation popup again, simply refresh the browser session. This is a one-time installation and you will not be prompted to install the plugin again.
After
selecting "Share Screen" button, you can choose to share your screen.
Select the window to share from the dropdown and click "Allow" to start
sharing.
To stop sharing your screen, click on the screen sharing icon again.
Troubleshooting tips
I cannot share my screen in Chrome incognito browser session or Firefox private browsing.
Private browser sessions are not supported by the application.
Popups and dropdown fields are not streamed correctly
Select "Entire screen" option to show everything. When you select "Application Window" option, it streams actions specific to the applications current state and popups and dropdown fields in the application may go ignored.
